About
Ilfracombe Park is a scenic forested park located about 20 minutes outside of the Town of Huntsville. The Ilfracombe welcome sign, which is located at the entrance to the park, is a community waypost consisting of a carved log which sits upon two stone pillars. Towering white pines sway in the breeze and provide ample shade on a sunny day making this a great place to have a picnic. The forest is also a wonderful site to play games and run around-the large tree trunks make great hiding spots! Situated on the waterfront of Buck Lake, there is a fairly natural shoreline with several sandy stretches. This is a good location to launch a canoe or kayak if you’re wanting to paddle around the lake. Ilfracombe Park is equipped with some seating as well as seasonal portable washrooms. There is a small parking lot onsite with additional parking available on the roadside.
