Goodwin Park
661 Brunel Road, Huntsville

About

Goodwin Park is located alongside Brunel Road just a few hundred metres from the Historic Brunel Locks, this picturesque little park is a lovely spot to take a break.

Situated on a bend along the shore of the Muskoka River, the water is quite wide at this site with several shallow areas throughout. This may be why it’s such a great place to cast your fishing rod. A gravel boat launch is equipped with a series of docks which many like to fish from. Just beyond the docks the natural shoreline gives way to a nice sandy area which is fairly shallow and suitable for swimming. There is a good sized grassy area equipped with a few Muskoka chairs and a picnic table where you can start up a game of tag or spread out a blanket to laze in the sun. Watch as boats make their way by, traveling in and out of the nearby locks. This is a great spot to launch a canoe as the river is a no wake zone and there are plenty of nooks and inlets to explore.

The Goodwin Park area is well treed and boasts several mature white pines which provide a beautiful backdrop of authentic Muskoka landscape.
