About
The Cedar Canoe Books Ice Rink at River Mill Park in downtown Huntsville transforms winter into a magical playground for families and visitors alike. This isn’t your average ice rink – it’s the epicentre of a season-long celebration! The unmonitored rink is open daily (weather permitting), and becomes an enchanted outdoor venue each evening as a sparkling canopy of lights illuminates the ice until 9pm. Whether you’re perfecting your figure eights, teaching little ones to glide, or simply soaking in the twinkling ambiance with hot chocolate from a nearby cafe in hand, the Cedar Canoe Books Ice Rink offers a slice of winter paradise that’ll have you falling in love with the cold all over again.
From January 30 through March 8, 2026, the rink elevates the winter experience with SnowFest – a season-long celebration that turns the ice into a glowing hub of themed weekend programming. Funky Fridays (6-9pm each Friday) kick off each weekend with high-energy glow nights featuring live DJs, black lights, and LED displays that transform the rink into a neon dance floor on ice. Silverscreen Saturdays (6-9pm each Saturday) invite families to skate into the movies with rinkside film projections, character visits, and popcorn flowing freely under the shimmering light canopy. The weekend wraps up with Sundae Fun Days (12-3pm each Sunday), offering a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere complete with build-your-own ice cream sundaes, lighthearted games, and cheerful music. Each weekend at SnowFest delivers unforgettable seasonal experiences that blend skating, entertainment, and winter treats in an illuminated setting that captures the pure magic of a Muskoka winter.
