The Lightfoot Band

August 16 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The Lightfoot Band delivers a must-see show for fans of the iconic Canadian folksinger, featuring his beloved hits as well as some deep cuts to deliver the ultimate Gordon Lightfoot experience.

The original lineup – Rick Haynes on bass, Barry Keane on drums, Mike Heffernan on keyboards, and Carter Lancaster on lead guitar – are joined by their newest member, lead singer and rhythm guitarist Andy Mauck. The band is known for its decades of collaboration with Gordon Lightfoot and the performance will showcase hits from his incredible catalogue. Fans can expect to hear renditions of classics including “Sundown,” “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald,” “If You Could Read My Mind,” “Beautiful,” and “Carefree Highway.”

The band, recognized for crafting the signature “Lightfoot sound,” brings these classic melodies to life as an homage to the iconic songwriter. “We felt that it was our duty to continue to perform Gordon’s great songs, the way he wanted them performed,” says Barry Keane, the band’s drummer for 47 years.

Gordon Lightfoot’s rich baritone and melodic songwriting made him one of the most popular and celebrated artists of the 1970s. He has won several awards and distinctions including 16 JUNO Awards, an induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and Canada’s Walk of Fame, the SOCAN Lifetime Achievement Award, the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award, and the companion of the Order of Canada, the country’s highest civilian honour. His songs have stayed in the hearts of millions, and his music is recognized as part of the soundtrack that defined an era.
The Canadian icon passed away at 84 years old on May 1, 2023. His melodies have stayed in the hearts of millions and the upcoming performance in Huntsville is part of the band’s dedication to preserving Lightfoot’s musical legacy. The event promises to be an unforgettable experience for fans of Gordon Lightfoot and music lovers alike.
