HFA Art Breaks – “awake” in the morning with sandy

April 16, 2020 @ 8:30 am - 9:30 am

Mindfulness Poster

Join Sandy Inkster every morning at 8:30am for AWAKE: a daily mindfulness session on Zoom.

So much is different right now, with the loss of routine, the loss of being with friends, and the loss of going anywhere we want to…without masks and gloves.
From these changes, each human being has a different interpretation and is influenced by many different factors.
Using mindful movement as part of the mindfulness sessions, children will awaken to noticing what is present; in their bodies, their minds, their emotions and in the surrounding environment.
Breathing games will awaken awareness to increasing our focus or increasing our energy.
“Awake” in the morning with Sandy, starting a day with mindfulness practice to achieve calm, strengthen mental well-being, inspire creativity and build resilience. These sessions are appropriate for all ages, and run every morning throughout at April.

To register for the sessions, e-mail [email protected]. Spaces are limited.

We understand that with new software and technologies, you may concerned with security. We encourage you to visit Zoom’s Privacy Policy to be well informed if you are considering signing up.

AWAKE is part of HfA ART BREAKS. To help supports kids and their families, HfA is offering a slate of easy and fun online arts based activities while we all practice social distancing. We would like to respectfully acknowledge that we are on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg, specifically the Chippewa, Ojibwa and Potawatomi peoples, under the terms of the Robinson-Huron Treaty #61 of 1850, and the Williams Treaties of 1923.

We are grateful to be here. We hope you are too.

Together, we honour all Indigenous peoples – First Nations, Métis and Inuit – for their cultures, their languages, their wise teachings and ways of being, their stewardship and protection of the lands and waters - and life - that have shaped this country since time began.

Together, we commit to acknowledge, to learn, to educate, to create opportunity and to honour sacred places, and to take actions toward real Truth and Reconciliation in support of our commitment to wellness for all, and to walking the path together in respect, peace and harmony for future generations.

G’chi miigwech. Thank you very much.
